Health and Social Care
Key Stage 5 Health and Social Care Curriculum Intent
Within Health and Social Care, we have a 2 - 4 year curriculum that develops students’ knowledge of the Health and Social Care Sector. This knowledge is built upon as each year progresses and for those that opt to take HSC at Key Stage 5 – prior knowledge of KS4 as well as new knowledge is assessed. The curriculum is planned and structured through medium term plans that actively promote a wide range of areas within HSC, with work set and taught through a range of different ways. The curriculum has been planned and delivered to allow students to become independent yet reflective learners. The HSC curriculum has been selected to allow all students to access information and even if they choose not to partake in a career within the sector, they will have invaluable life skills.
The main objective for the Health and Social Care curriculum is to inspire young people to work within services that support a wide range of people.
